Hi! We're Back on the Boat, a designer and writer team creating projects to help Asians reconnect with their roots. Being Asian and living in North America, it isn't always easy to learn about or understand the traditions that came naturally to our parents and grandparents. We're hoping to change that with projects that make Asian culture and heritage more accessible.

 

Chinatown is definitely one of our biggest inspirations. From its food to its shops, its sights to its people, there's an endless wealth to draw from. That's what led to our first project YutLik, an English translation of the Chinese calendar. By creating YutLik, we hope those not fluent in Chinese can participate in the tradition of reading auspicious calendars. Maybe this year, you won't forget your mom's lunar birthday.
