CORKBOARD MEDIAWORKS
photography by Larry Chin

I am drawn to creating visual memories of neighborhoods, communities and spaces that have played an important role in shaping my migrant journey.

When I first came here, Chinatown was the only place that felt familiar. Over the years, my late jia po (grandmother) who lived in Chinatown and late kiu kung (great-uncle) who was a very devoted member of the Hakka Association kept me connected to the neighborhood.

I am now a director of the Hakka Association myself and stay active in Chinatown through volunteer work and a variety of cultural initiatives.
