Before I joined the Wong Association, it was initially my curiosity about Chinese people and exploring my own heritage in Chinatown. I soon made friends with some of the residents of Chinatown and also those involved in fighting for the life of Chinatown. Eventually, I connected with the Wong Association and, as a result, found out that my late grandfather was a member of said Association. I promptly became a member of the Wongs and this allowed me from time to time to document their events and life in the association.

Over the long-term, it has been my continual curiosity and longing to find out more about Chinatown through my photography that has kept me coming back. I've had some years where I returned with printed photos and to see people's face light up as they realize they've been documented has sparked a fire in me to keep going with this.
