new writeup for 2023 - please use for new tee:
The annual Fire Dragon Festival is produced by the Chinatown Celebration Society in Vancouver Chinatown. This festival logo design incorporate elements that spoke to the story of the Fire Dragon and its history tied to Mid-Autumn. You'll find the Fire Dragon accompanied by the goddess Chang'e with the full harvest moon dancing in the background. The smoke of the incense surrounds them amongst the colors of Orange (the color of the most important moon period) and Red (for luck, happiness and good fortune).

Fire Dragon Festival has collaborated with artist Paige Jung on a new and fresh identity for Fire Dragon Festival. Paige is a local Chinese Canadian illustrator and muralist who's work uses bold colors to craft stories, centred on themes of community and experiences of the Asian diaspora.
When designing the logo, we wanted to incorporate elements that spoke to the story of the Fire Dragon and its history tied to Mid-Autumn. You'll find the Fire Dragon accompanied by the goddess Chang'e with the full harvest moon dancing in the background. The smoke of the incense surrounds them amongst the colors of Orange (the color of the most important moon period) and Red (for luck, happiness and good fortune).
